Statement by the Macao Chamber of Commerce

The Macao Chamber of Commerce (hereinafter referred to as "the Chamber") was authorized by the convener of the World Chinese Entrepreneurs Convention to host the 18th World Chinese Entrepreneurs Convention (hereinafter referred to as “the Convention”) on September 11, 2024. Recently discovered that certain individuals / organizations have illegally used the Chamber’s name and the Convention’s name, fabricated event details without permission and fraudulently collected exorbitant registration fees. Such acts seriously infringe upon the legitimate rights and interests of the Chamber and the Convention, mislead the public, damage the reputation of the Convention, and constitute illegal conduct. The Chamber strongly condemns these actions and hereby makes the following solemn statement:

  1. Registration is Limited to the Official Registration System

    The 18th World Chinese Entrepreneurs Convention is hosted by the Macao Chamber of Commerce. Invited organizations will be issued online registration system accounts and must register online. No paper registration forms are available.

  2. Participation Fee

    The official participation fee for this Convention is HKD 4,400 or USD 550. Any individual collecting exaggerated fees in the name of the Convention without permission is committing fraud.

  3. The Chamber Is the Only Authorized Fee Collector

    Invited organizations registered through the online system will receive official invoices issued by the Convention. All payments related to the 18th World Chinese Entrepreneurs Convention are to be collected solely by the Macao Chamber of Commerce through official channels. The Chamber has not authorized any third party to collect fees on its behalf. Any other organizations or individuals collecting payments in the name of the Convention or the Chamber are committing fraudulent acts.

  4. Reservation of Legal Rights

    The Chamber maintains zero tolerance toward any unauthorized use of its name, fabrication of event details, or illegal collection of exorbitant registration fees. The Chamber reserves all rights to pursue legal action against relevant individuals or organizations. The Chamber will actively cooperate with law enforcement agencies to crack down on such illegal activities and protect the legitimate rights and interests of both the Chamber and the Convention.

The Chamber solemnly urges the public and all prospective participants to remain vigilant and not to trust or participate in any registration or payment activities through unofficial channels.
